Director Taghi Amirani participated in Q+A sessions after each showing, discussing everything from the film’s inspiration to the challenges of balancing science and art.

The festival also marked the unveiling of the m | Lab, a new mobile environment designed by Arup’s acoustic consultants and design studio Stereotank. The m | Lab provides an immersive experience, using virtual reality and 3D ambisonic sound to help clients envision their projects throughout the design process.

Visitors donned Oculus Rift head-mounted displays to experience three Arup projects virtually. Members of the team that developed the tool were present throughout the weekend to answer questions.

To learn more about the ideas and technologies behind the m | Lab, watch “Seeing is Believing” or reach out to Raj Patel or Terence Caulkins from Arup’s New York office.
